Mira is a dedicated Speech Language Pathologist with a passion for empowering children to communicate effectively. She has had the privilege of working extensively with children and youth of all ages and backgrounds. She believes therapy should be effective and fun, and values collaboration with caregivers and inter-disciplinary team members.

Mira has experience in providing assessment and treatment to a diverse population of clients with communication difficulties including articulation, language, literacy, fluency and social communication difficulties. Her experience garnered from both the public and private sector has helped her hone skills in helping children develop clear speech, robust language skills, and a love for reading and writing. She understands the importance of catering to diverse learning needs & cultural backgrounds.

Mira is fluent in English and Arabic and is able to assist communication development in both languages.

Professional Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Physiology with Minor in Linguistics, McGill University (Canada)
  • Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Western University (Canada)
  • Registered member of the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario (Canada)

Previous Experience:

Mira joined The International Physiotherapy Centre from the Toronto District School Board, where she had been working in the school system conducting speech, language and literacy assessments for children with speech & language difficulties. She worked with teachers, schools and families to develop personalised programs to help these support children, some of whom had complex special needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Mira also has experience working in a multi-disciplinary clinic in Toronto where she provided children of all ages with speech & language assessment and treatment services. Mira utilised a play-based approach to support children in achieving their therapy goals. She also worked as a team with each family and collaborated with clinicians from other disciplines to ensure the most comprehensive care is provided.
