Angelo Simoes is a highly experienced Clinical Psychologist specialising in adult, family and couples therapy. Angelo has worked with a wide range of client groups and employs an integrative approach that includes Systemic Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) and the Gottman Method (for couples). He provides a shame-free therapeutic environment that fosters personal and relational growth, helping individuals navigate and understand their mind-body experiences, make sense of their struggles and feel empowered to thrive.

He has extensive experience working with individuals facing challenges such as anxiety, OCD, phobias, depression, stress-related issues, trauma, and grief. In his work with couples, Angelo integrates well researched Gottman Method principles and interventions, as well as emotion-focused interventions. This helps couples understand the dynamics that create disconnection while offering practical tools to enhance connection, improve communication, manage conflict and build lasting intimacy.

Angelo also brings significant expertise in emotional intelligence through research, assessment and training. He helps people access their inner experiences, build confidence in decision-making and gain greater control over their emotions.

  • Masters Degree in General Psychology & Health Psychology – Clinical Systemic Psychology from University of Lisbon (Portugal)
  • Member of the Portuguese Order of Psychologists (Portugal)
  • Graduate Member of the Psychological Society of Ireland (Ireland)

Previous Experience:

With over a decade of clinical experience, Angelo has worked with a wide range of groups and individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. He began his career at Casa Estrela do Mar in Lisbon, Portugal, where he provided individual, couples and family therapy, collaborated on art-based interventions for teenagers in residential care, and contributed to community mental health initiatives.

Since 2018, Angelo has been practicing in Dublin, Ireland, offering psychological interventions primarily through private practice. He continues to enhance his practice with ongoing supervision and professional development.
