Mariette is a Senior Physiotherapist with considerable experience in Musculoskeletal and Orthopedic Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation. Mariette is a specialist in the assessment and treatment of pain, dysfunction & injury of the pelvis, hip and the lower extremity. Her expertise extends to the integrated assessment and treatment of pelvic floor muscles and related orthopedic & women’s health issues. She emphasises hands-on therapeutic methods and advocates movement as a key rehabilitation & healing tool.
Professional Qualifications:
Mariette obtained an MSc in Physiotherapy from the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa. She presented her research on hip & pelvic floor muscle pain in young female athletes at the 2023 Female Athlete Congress in Boston, USA. Mariette also lectures as a guest lecturer at the University of Qatar.
Her post graduate qualifications also include Orthopedic Manipulative Therapy, Stecco Fascial Manipulation, Functional Assessment & Management and Basi-Pilates Mat Instruction.
Previous Experience:
With over two decades of experience, Mariette practiced privately & collaboratively with prominent Orthopedic Surgeons, Gynecologists and Urologists in South Africa before joining The International Physiotherapy Centre in 2022.
